This opens to attract companions of destiny, both in spirit and in the physical world, as friends and allies are gathered in purpose to serve the greater good. To the Mayans, Oc represented the dog, a true and loyal companion, here to serve and protect.

Oc can also be helpful for developing relationships with guides, allies and guardians. The purpose of connecting with Oc is to view these relationships as aspects of the self and extensions of ones purpose.

The Tzolkin Calendar and the Mayan Collection (continued)

Fine Handcrafted Mayan Archetypes in Sterling Silver

December 17,2012, the Tzolkin day is 10 Chicchan.

Enter Chicchan ~ The flame of awakening and purification; The seat of instinctual wisdom

"Chicchan" in sterling silver $145.00

The Mayan glyph "Chicchan" is represented as the serpent, symbolizing healing and wholeness. Like the energy of a true Shaman, Chicchan healing potentials can rejuvinate and transform disease.

This symbol is known by the Maya as the kultanlilni or kundalini, the energy that moves from the base of the spine up and out through the crown chakra.

Attributes of Chicchan:

Number: Five (center)

Color: Flaming vermillion

Herbs:  Cardamom, fraxinella, cayenne

Element: Earth

Gemstones: Carnelian, Fire Agate, Red Coral, Orange Citrine

"Chicchan" with Salmon Tourmaline in sterling silver: $225.00 with chain

In this particular version of Chicchan, I have set a multi-color Tourmaline, that is salmon, pink and orange in color. It is the stone that felt right for this symbol based on the attributes. I often choose stones based on their merit and the way in which their attributes work with the symbols, even if it is not one of the recommended stones. A lot of this is intuitive. Perhaps you have a stone in mind that you want for a piece, and provided it is readily available, it is generally not a problem. Custom cutting a cabochon can add a little to the cost, but it is minimal.

If you are interested in learning what your Mayan signature is on the galactic spin of the Tzolkin wheel of time, there are a number of websites that have date calculators.

In the  next few weeks I'll post the static page that will include a calendar converter for your convenience. The page will also give  specs on the Mayan pieces I'm creating.

Presented here over the next twenty days are the glyphs from the Tzolkin calendar, the Mayan calendar of a 260 solar day count that is thought of as the sacred ceremonial calendar. On Dec. 14, 2010, the calendar correlating day is 7 IK. The number seven corresponds to the tonal quality of Ik. Ik is naturally associated with the number two.

These pieces are cast in sterling silver and measure approximately .75" by 1.5" with the gemstone drop and .75"  by  1" without the stone. The chain lengths available are 16, 18 and 20 inches all in sterling snakes or an alternative  rubber or leather cord.

Ik

"IK" Sterling silver Mayan glyph shown with rubber cord

All of the twenty Mayan Tzolkin solar seals are available with or without a gemstone drop. They can also be purchased with or without the chain.

I have chosen to present them in the order of which they are correlating with the days of the gregorian calendar. This was the my way of incorporating the timing frequencies with these affordable pieces.  I believe that that the Mayans understood the mystery  of time and space and that these archetypal images of the days essences have been offered to humanity as tools for consciousness. I have worked with the symbols in creating talismans for more than twenty years. I am driven by the natural world and inspired by ancient cultures and traditions, always contemplating these very same mysteries, so when I was introduced to the Mayan Calendar, in particular - the Tzolkin, something shifted for me and a new era began.

Please feel free to contact me regarding these or any other pieces you may have in mind.

"IK" ~ Spirit breath, galactic wind, inspire truth and presence!

Ik is thought of as the galactic wind, the spirit that passes through time and space and acting as the breath of life that supports creation. Ik is the divine breath of inspiration that penetrates form. Ik also represents spontaneity and simplicity. Ik is the simple knowledge that invisible forces are always moving in your life, to guide and inspire your path.

The Tzolkin Calendar and The Mayan Collection

Fine Handcrafted Mayan Archetypes in Precious Metals

The Mayan Collection of  handcrafted jewelry  has  developed over the past few years as a result of the need to produce an affordable signature piece that everyone could  own and wear. The original Mayan pieces that I make are uniquely handcrafted and specially calibrated to the timing sequences that were divined using birthdates to cast personalized Tzolkin charts. Throughout the course of these postings and beginning with this one, I will occasionally feature these specialized, sound activated talismans, but for the sake of staying on track, the next twenty posts following this one will mainly be introducing all twenty star glyphs, in sterling silver with gemstone accents. The customized pieces are still available upon request, however what is intended in this Mayan Collection is that theses Mayan archetypal symbols are readily available as finished jewelry pieces.

Today begins with Imix. There are 20 glyphs and thirteen tones or numbers which results in a total revolution of 260 solar days that it takes to complete one Tzolkin turn. Each one of the twenty Tzolkin glyphs is repeated 13 times in a Tzolkin 260 day cycle, and the number or tone that is associated with the glyph makes it ultimately unique.  Although today is 6 Imix, the number (tone) that is originally associated with Imix is one. The attributes of tone six are:

Balance and receptivity, the ability to respond, dynamic equilibrium, and roots in many directions. Organic balance emerges from who you are in all dimensions. Imix represents the Source of all live. Be true to your divine nature!

The Mayan Archetype "Imix"

Imix represents the original primal waters where the origin of creation can be heard and felt deep within.   Imix   is represented by the color burgundy,    the color of the blood of life. This also represents love, trust and nurturance as found in fertile Earth.

Number: One

Color: Burgundy

Herb: Nettle, Don Quai

Element: Earth

Gemstones: Garnet, Bloodstone, Ruby, Temple Linghams

There are many websites that have calendar conversions to calculate your personal Mayan archetype. We will soon have one installed here, but meanwhile this is an easy link to calculate your Tzolkin signature in the Mayan tradition of calendar systems.
